Rapper Returning To Big Screen In TV Remake

They’re doing it again – but with a difference.

Just weeks after announcing a big screen version of the old TV classic “Kung Fu”, Hollywood is dipping into the boob tube vaults one more time for yet another remake.

It’s a western fondly remembered by some but almost never seen anymore – “Have Gun Will Travel”. The show, which aired with solid ratings from 1957-1963, starred Richard Boone as the mysterious man in black known only as Paladin.

He was a bounty hunting gun for hire back in the Wild West days based out of San Francisco, and his famous chess piece card revealed he was available to anyone who needed him for a price.

Every week, someone did.

So what’s so special about yet another TV remake?

It could be the casting. The movie is scheduled to star Eminem, the controversial rapper who made an impression with his first flick “8 Mile” in 2002. Paramount Pictures has confirmed it’s signed Marshall Mathers – the singer’s real name – to a contract and that he’s ‘excited about the role’.

Eminem’s once white hot music career has cooled of late and this could be his chance to return to the spotlight. It’s believed he’ll also contribute to the soundtrack for the flick, which will be updated to take place in modern times.

There’s no word yet on when the film might premiere, but since shooting has yet to begin, it’s likely to be a year or more before you’ll be able to see it.
