Multiple Repeat Sex Offender Stunned By Lengthy Sentence

A 24-time repeat offender has been slapped with the longest sentence ever handed out  for sexual assault involving touching. Forty-six year-old James Burrows was handed a 13-year prison term on Wednesday.

Four years ago, Burrows broke into a Bloor and Dufferin seniors home, where he posed as a doctor and molested four frail women in their 80’s and 90’s.

Despite the seriousness of the offence and the number of times he’s been caught, Burrows’ lawyer maintains the punishment doesn’t fit the crime.

“He got a sentence today that is twice what people get in Toronto for manslaughter,” an outraged Daniel Brodsky argues. “The sentence is so over the top that there’s something wrong.”

As part of his sentrence, Burrows will also have to take sexual castration drugs. He’s been designated a long-term offender, which means he’ll be monitored for ten years after he’s released.

He plans to appeal.
