Nick Lachey Puts His Past Behind Him

But now Nick Lachey is hoping you’ll take him seriously for what he really wants to be  – a real artist.

Lachey performed at the Kool Haus in Toronto Monday night and doesn’t seem any the worse for wear from being on his own.

He’s been at it for a decade, but this is the first time he’s ever appeared on stage doing a solo act. Does he find it intimidating?

“It’s a little different,” he concedes. “You know, being on stage for so many years with a group and performing in the group dynamic is certainly a lot different than being out on stage by yourself. It’s been a little bit intimidating but more exciting than anything.”

As for all the tabloid press that’s surrounded him since his early days with 98 Degrees?

“I’m going to live my life and do it the best way that I know how and I think eventually people will hopefully run out of things to talk about,” he shrugs.

That’s about as likely as, say, a reconciliation with Jessica.
