A potential federal Conservative candidate has been dumped for criticizing the party on TV.
York Region councillor Gordon Landon told CityNews Political Specialist Richard Madan that his riding wasn’t getting federal infrastructure funding – because it was held by a Liberal.
John McCallum represents Markham-Unionville.
According to the Canadian Press, Landon said he complied with a request from the Conservatives to step aside.
The 61-year-old added that he finds it hard to get everything approved by Ottawa, and is used to speaking his mind.
