Police Set Up Command Post As Search For Elizabeth Chirwa Continues

UPDATE: Elizabeth Chirwa was found on July 5, 2010 in Toronto.

It’s been eight days since Elizabeth Chirwa disappeared from her North York neighbourhood and police are short on leads.

The 22-year-old, who has medical and mental health issues, was last seen near her home on Graydon Hall Drive, in the Don Mills and Highway 401 area, around 6:30am on April 20. Her relatives say she likes to watch television, and especially music videos.

On Wednesday police set up a command post on Graydon Hall Drive hoping to turn up some leads. Authorities will also be checking TTC security video for possible clues.

As a result of the intense coverage, one good clue came in: Chirwa was seen at the Fairview Mall 12 hours after she first disappeared. Security cameras were used to obtain a new photo.
