Fourth Arrest In Mississauga Teen’s Murder

Peel police have arrested and charged a fourth suspect after a Mississauga teen was killed in a senseless shooting earlier this month.

On the evening of Saturday, July 3, Adrian Ducas was playing basketball at the Malton Community Centre when several men came in and, according to witnesses, started kicking the 17-year-old’s basketball. Apparently, they were looking for someone else and became angry because the person wasn’t there.

“[Adrian] was on the basketball court playing ball as usual and they started kicking his ball,” said Ducas’ sister, Natasha Da Costa.

“He said, ‘Why are you kicking my ball?’ And when he said that, they pulled the gun out, and he said, ‘Could you just cool, just stop, chill?’ And after they butted him with the gun, from my understanding, he said, ‘You’re really gonna do me like that?’ And they just pulled the trigger. Those were his last words. He pleaded and they still did it. They kill over anything – nothing at all.”

The suspects allegedly shot Ducas in front of about 30 people and walked away.

Within a week, police arrested a Toronto man, 20-year-old Kevaughn Tulloch, and 23-year-old Maurice Raphael from Scarborough, and charged them with first-degree murder. On Friday, officers detained Cassandra Elizabeth Scavone, a 20-year-old woman also from Toronto, and charged her with accessory after the fact of murder.

And detectives arrested a fourth suspect on Wednesday, 20-year-old Courtney Dawkins of Toronto, and charged him with first-degree murder. He was due in a Brampton court on Thursday.

One suspect is still at large, Christopher Raphael, and is wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant. He is described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 160 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair in cornrows.
