Calgary bipolar disorder support group waiting to hear from Charlie Sheen

The head of a Canadian bipolar disorder support group is waiting to hear from actor Charlie Sheen.

When Sheen brought his “Violent Torpedo of Truth” tour to Toronto last week, he held a march in support of the Calgary-based Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorders.

The TV actor urged fans to give money to the group, and promised to match each donation. But Kaj (KAI) Korvela, executive director of the Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorders Society, says the group has yet to hear from Sheen.

Several hundred people joined Sheen on the walk from his hotel to Massey Hall, where he performed a show.

Sheen has a history of drug and alcohol problems. When told in recent interview with ABC News that some people feel he might have bipolar disorder, Sheen said he’s not bipolar but “bi-winning.”

Sheen’s spokesman, Larry Solters, could not immediately be reached for comment.
