Man facing 10 charges after guns, drugs seized in Etobicoke

A Toronto man is facing a slew of charges after police say they discovered him carrying guns and drugs in Etobicoke.

Police say on Monday, members of their TAVIS Rapid Response Team were on patrol in The West Mall and Burnhamthorpe Road area when for some reason, they began investigating a man in a vehicle.

They allegedly discovered a 9 mm handgun with 10 rounds of ammunition and approximately $1,500 worth of crack cocaine.

Tyler Lansdowne-Thomas, 19, of Toronto has been charged with:

  • Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession Firearm Knowing the Serial Number Has Been Altered, or Removed
  • Possession of Firearm Obtained by the Commission of an Offence
  • Unauthorized Presence of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
  • Careless Storage of Ammunition
  • Contravention of Storage Regulations Made Under the Firearms Act.

He appeared in court Monday morning.
