Province to unveil new photo ID

The province will unveil a new photo ID card Thursday for people without a driver’s licence.

Residents will be able to use the single secure identification when buying alcohol, opening a bank account, and boarding a domestic flight.

Transportation Minister Kathleen Wynne will reveal the card at the CNIB in Toronto. One corner will be cut so blind cardholders can easily tell it apart.

About 1.5 million Ontarians – including senior citizens and the disabled – don’t have a driver’s licence.
