The Sheepdogs shoot video in Trinity Bellwoods Park

The Saskatoon rockers who got their faces on the cover of the Rolling Stone recruited hippies to turn out for their video shoot at Trinity Bellwoods Park Thursday.
Canada’s new “it” band, The Sheepdogs, put out a casting call online for the video for their song I Don’t Know. The band asked people to show up at the park’s “dogbowl”, or off-leash area, in “vintage” and “Woodstockesque” clothing — apropos for the band’s late 1960s and 70s throwback style.
“I called in sick to work to be part of The Sheepdogs video,” fan Stevie Ford said. “I want to go down in history and not work in the back of a store, right?”
The Saskatchewan natives quickly rose to fame after winning a contest to appear on this week’s cover of Rolling Stone magazine — the first unsigned band to do so.
The Sheepdogs have since inked a deal with Atlantic records and played on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
But the recent flurry of attention hasn’t all been praise. Some Saskatonians are upset by the unflattering portrait painted of their “salty” city by both the author of the article and the band.
