Russell Peters supports Feast For All food drive on Breakfast Television

It’s a long way from pulling cables at Citytv to headlining sold-out comedy tours around the world – but that’s exactly what Russell Peters has done.

The pride of Brampton dropped by Breakfast Television on Tuesday to talk about his recent star on Canada’s Walk of Fame, and what he’s doing to celebrate Thanksgiving.

“I’ve teamed up with Pepto-Bismol and Food Banks Canada for Thanksgiving,” Peters said.

It’s part of the Feast For All Campaign. Pepto-Bismol will donate cash to Canada’s food banks – up to $25,000 – for every “like” on their Facebook page. Click here to visit the page.

Peters – who got his start working on the now-defunct Lunch Television – brushed off praise for his recent award. Peters, along with astronaut Dr. Roberta Bondar, musician Burton Cummings, writer Mordecai Richler, tennis player Daniel Nestor, and actor Sandra Oh, was honoured with a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.

“Oh, that old thing,” joked Peters, who brought his wife and his infant daughter with him to the ceremony.

“My family flew in from L.A., my mom flew in from Brampton, I flew my brother in from Oakville,” he laughed.
