A burst water pipe at the Toronto reference library had fire crews working early Monday to protect valuable documents and collections.
The leak was reported around 4 a.m. at the massive facility on Yonge Street at Asquith Avenue, just north of Bloor. Firefighters laid tarps in the basement to protect archives and records.
The building is currently in the midst of a five-year, $34-million renovation that is slated to wrap up this year.
