International Women’s Day march held in Toronto

Toronto celebrated International Women’s Day early with a march downtown on Saturday.

The march began at the University of Toronto Varsity Centre, on Bloor Street West near Bedford Road, at 12:45 p.m.

The march then worked its way east to Yonge Street, south to Queen then west to Nathan Phillips Square.

From there the march went north on Bay to Gerrard, east to Church and south to Gould Street, ending at Ryerson University.

International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8, a global day designed to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women across the world.
