Two men are in hospital, one under arrest, after a shooting in Ajax Saturday evening.
Police say around 6:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man got into a fight with another man, 40, on Falby Court and shot at him without making contact. The dispute continued at a plaza at Harwood Avenue and Bayly Street and this time, the 22-year-old allegedly shot the other man in the head.
“I heard three gunshots and I looked out the window and there was some guy, and he fell and he started crawling,” said witness Tracey Hawchar. “He was screaming for help.”
The alleged gunman ended up with a leg wound during the incident and was taken to a local hospital, where he is in police custody.
The victim was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre in serious condition, but he is expected to recover.
Police say they are not looking for any other suspects and have recovered the weapon.
There’s no word on charges.
