Police investigating after bullet flies through window of Scarborough apartment

Toronto police are investigating after a bullet flew through the apartment window of a Scarborough family Sunday evening.

The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m., on Lawrence Avenue East near Kingston Road.

Police tell CityNews a bullet sailed through the open window of a second storey apartment unit.

The family was home at the time, but no one was injured in the incident.

“I was on the phone, walking around the house and I heard gunshots and my parents were like ‘Get down, get down.’” Me, my brother and my sister all got down, all of us. We stayed there for about five minutes,” said a building resident.

“It’s a very safe building, I’ve lived here for two-and-a-half years, so to me it was pretty scary to hear that,” said Dylan Maidment-Stitt

Police don’t believe the family was targeted, and they are still looking for suspects.
