Kirkland Signature pet food recalled

A pet food recall in the United States has been expanded into Canada due to salmonella concerns.

The manufacturer’s recall covers a variety of dog and cat foods, including Kirkland Signature brand, which is sold at Costco stores in Canada.

This recall notice comes after 14 people in at least nine U.S. states reported getting sick after handling the pet food.

It was made at the same South Carolina plant that a few years ago produced dog food contaminated with toxic mould, which was blamed for the death of dozens of dogs.

Some 680News listeners said their pets vomited and suffered from diarrhea after consuming the products.
