Body found in Barrie dumpster identified

Barrie police have identified a woman whose body was found in a dumpster at a Steel Street apartment building Friday afternoon.
The woman is in her 20s and police have notified her family, but haven’t released her name.
A resident in the area made the discovery.
An investigation is underway and an autopsy will be performed.
“It’s a very, very quiet neighbourhood,” Angela Lafontaine, the office administrator at the nearby Westminster Presbyterian Church, told CityNews.ca.
“It’s extremely out of the ordinary” for something like this to happen here, she said.
A portion of Steel Street between Cook and Johnson streets was closed for the investigation, but has since reopened.
