Brand of carrot chips may contain Salmonella

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled a brand of carrot chips which may contain Salmonella.

The Bolthouse Farms carrot chips, sold in 454-gram bags, were sold across Canada.

They have best before dates of Nov. 12, 2012 and Nov. 13, 2012 and the UPC 71464 17209.

No one has reported becoming sick after eating the snack.

The CFIA says food tainted with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, but can cause serious and sometimes deadly infections. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea and severe arthritis.
