$100K reward offered after bank heists

The Canadian Bankers Association is offering $100,000 for information that leads to an arrest following a series of “violent” bank robberies.

Halton police said the same two men robbed four banks, one each month since August.

The first robbery occurred on Aug. 7. Police say two armed men robbed a bank on Upper Middle Road in Oakville.

The men forced the employees into the bank vault while the suspects filled a duffel bag with a quantity of cash and fled on foot. They were caught on video surveillance.

Police say the men robbed a bank in Peel on Sept. 12, a bank in Hamilton on Oct. 16 and a bank in Waterloo on Nov. 1.
