Suspect sought after man shot in Rexdale

A man was shot and police officers conducted a firearms raid in two separate incidents in Rexdale.

Police say a 22-year-old man was shot in the hand just before 11 p.m. Wednesday on John Garland Boulevard, near Jamestown Crescent.

Investigators are looking for a suspect described as male, black, has a Caribbean accent, around five-foot-nine, 150 pounds, with a thick, long goatee. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a black hooded sweater and black pants.

Police say the gunman was driving a silver four-door newer-model Chrysler 300C.

Hours later, Emergency Task Force officers rounded up three suspects on Jamestown Crescent while executing a firearms warrant.  The arrests were made in the same area where two men were shot to death in September 2012. Both victims were found in a laneway and had been shot in the head.
