A 30-year-old woman is in a Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries after a three-vehicle crash in Oshawa on Thursday.
The collision happened on Simcoe Street North near Coates Road around 4:30 p.m., Durham police say.
Police say the injured Uxbridge woman was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Malibu heading south on Simcoe, when she crossed into the northbound lane.
The driver of a northbound Dodge Dakota tried to avoid the collision, but was struck by the Chevrolet.
As the driver of the Dakota swerved, the truck struck a third vehicle, a northbound Cadillac.
The driver of the Dakota and the driver of the Cadillac were not injured, police said.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
