Two people were taken to hospital early Monday morning after a two-alarm fire at a Mississauga highrise apartment.
Fire crews were called to 3355 Ponytrail Dr., near Dixie and Burnhamthorpe roads, around 1:30 a.m. after flames broke out in a unit on the seventh floor.
The two victims suffered minor smoke inhalation, Peel Regional Police said.
A transit bus was brought to the scene to shelter between 50 and 60 residents forced out of their homes during the response. Those residents were allowed back into their units about three hours later.
There’s no word on a cause or a damage estimate.
