Boy, 16, arrested in Mississauga shooting

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in a Mississauga shooting that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

At around 2 p.m., a 19-year-old man was found near an apartment building on Darcel Avenue with a gunshot wound to the torso and was taken to a Toronto trauma centre. He’s expected to recover.

The accused was found at his residence on Wednesday and arrested without incident, Peel police say.

The boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with attempted murder and numerous firearms-related offences.

He appeared in court for a bail hearing on Thursday.
