Leafs fan draws Internet wrath with ‘Toronto Stronger’ sign

A homemade sign held up by a Toronto Maple Leafs fan drew rage on social media Monday.
Before Game 3 between the Leafs and the Boston Bruins at the Air Canada Centre, the man, dressed in a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, held up a sign which read “Toronto Stronger” and had an image of a ribbon on it.
The image quickly spread across Twitter and Facebook.
The photo was also picked up by the media in Boston and drew reaction from not only hockey fans but resident who were enraged at the connection to the “Boston Strong” campaign which began after the bombing at the Boston Marathon.
“Toronto Stronger” was even trending on Twitter in the Boston area by the second period.
Many called the sign “classless,” “ridiculous,” “disrespectful” and “rude.”
