Man, 75, critical after being hit by car in Scarborough

A 75-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car in Scarborough on Friday night.
He was crossing McCowan Road at Lawrence Avenue East around 10:45 p.m., when a northbound Toyota Camry ran into him.
The man had massive injuries, according to police, and was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Officers questioned the 56-year-old man who was driving the Camry and would like to talk to any other witnesses.
The intersection was closed for several hours for the investigation.
In earlier reports, police said the man was 79.
