Igor brand Gorgonzola cheese recalled due to Listeria fears

Consumers are being warned to avoid eating Igor brand Gorgonzola cheese because it may be contaminated with Listeria.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the Italian-made cheese — sold in 1.5-kilogram packages with UPC 2190010 014222 — might also have been divided into smaller packages by retailers.

This product was distributed in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and New Brunswick and possibly other provinces.

No one has reported becoming sick after eating the cheese, which was imported by Agropur of St-Hubert, Que.

Food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.
