The summer is coming to an end but road closures – whether its construction or subway shutdowns – show no signs of slowing down.
Here’s our list for Aug. 30-Sept. 2:
Kingston and Woodbine
Residents on Kingston Road have another construction closure to contend with this weekend.
The intersection of Kingston Road and Woodbine Avenue will be partially closed to traffic starting at 10 a.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Tuesday morning for streetcar track construction.
Traffic heading north on Woodbine Ave. will be diverted eastbound along Kingston Rd.; while traffic heading south on Woodbine Ave. will be forced to exit before reaching Kingston Rd.
This recent closure is in addition to the ongoing construction work on westbound Kingston Road.
Commuters are being warned of delays in the area.
The City recommends Coxwell and Victoria Park as alternate routes.
TTC closures
Pape station is closed Aug. 19-30 for renovation work.
During the closure, subway trains will not stop at Pape station and buses will be on diversion.
Yonge St. watermain replacement
Construction is underway on Yonge Street in North York for watermain replacement work.
During phase one of the project, the southbound curb lane on Yonge between Finch and Kingsdale avenues will be closed.
Bayview closure for gas pipeline work
Bayview Ave., from River to Lower River streets, is scheduled to be closed for six weeks for work on the Don Valley natural gas pipeline. The closure began on Aug. 6.
Kingston Road construction
Drivers can expect slowdowns in the Kingston Road and Victoria Park Avenue area due to a TTC track reconstruction.
Gardiner repairs
Two eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway, from Jarvis Street to the Don Roadway, are scheduled to be closed until Dec. 1.
