‘The Bachelor Canada’ names Calgary gymnastics teacher first bachelorette

Calgary gymnastics teacher Raelee Fedyna is the first bachelorette chosen for the second season of The Bachelor Canada.

“I am more than flattered that Canada voted for me,” Fedyna, 26, told Breakfast Television Monday.

“I am so excited to have this opportunity and be on the show.”

Fedyna, an art director and gymnastics teacher, won an online contest, pulling in thousands of votes at BachelorCanada.ca.

She told Brad Smith – a former CFL player who was the show’s first bachelor – that she was looking for “the man of her dreams.”

“Absolutely, tall, dark and handsome,” she laughed.

Later, she added that she was ready for a serious relationship.

“I’m ready for that. It’s time. I want that partner to come and join me and do some exciting stuff.”

Smith, now an entertainment correspondent for City, met his fiancée Bianka Kamber on Season 1. He told Fedyna to have fun and enjoy her time on the show.

The bachelor himself and the remaining 24 bachelorettes have yet to be chosen.

Nationwide casting for The Bachelor Canada began on Jan. 25. The show will begin shooting in the spring and is scheduled to air in the fall.

Rogers Media is the parent company of City, CityNews and this website.
