International Home & Garden Show: Is your green thumb more of a poison pill? Don’t worry — the 26th annual International Home and Garden Show has plenty of experts, seminars, products and demonstrations to solve all your outdoor woes. This year, the show has a new home and crews will construct a 1,980 square-foot Cape Cod-style home inside of it. Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival: Tap in to a sure sign of spring at the Sugarbush Maple Syrup festival in Kortright. The conservation centre offers live demonstrations, wagon rides, activities and, yes, pancakes, for children and adults alike. There are also free maple syrup samples. Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival: The Kids in the Hall headline the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, which features a varied lineup of performers from the city, across Canada, and the United States. The 11-day festival includes a mix of free and ticketed public events. Thursday-March 16, various venues. torontosketchfest.com

International Women’s Day Rally and March: Women and their allies around the globe will march in solidarity on Saturday to celebrate International Women’s Day. The theme for the Toronto event is ‘Women Taking Power’ and is calling for a minimum wage increase, among other goals. OISE Building, 252 Bloor St. W. Saturday. Toronto Comicon: Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany as well as Whedon-verse favourite Eliza Dushku will join artists, creators and superfans for a three-day pop culture festival. Toronto Comicon celebrates all things genre, from comics to science fiction to horror, anime and gaming. Friday-Sunday.
