Visitation Tuesday for woman killed in brazen Malvern shooting

A visitation will be held on Tuesday afternoon for a mother of four who was killed in a brazen shooting in Malvern earlier this month, the same day one of the men accused in her murder will appear in court.

Andrea White, 33, was in the garage of her townhouse on Forest Creek with family and friends when she was hit by gunfire from a passing SUV on April 12. Police say she was not a target.

A public visitation for White will take place from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Jerrett Funeral Home on Kennedy Road in Scarborough. A private funeral will be held at the Jerrett Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday.

The two men accused in White’s murder were venting their anger over a fatal shooting that took place a year ago in the same community, Toronto police say.

On the night of the shooting, Michael Davani, 21, and Alwayne Bigby, 23, attended a memorial for Kwado “Kojo” Mensah, who was shot in the chest and died at a housing co-op near Morningside and Old Finch avenues on the evening of April 26, 2013.

Bigby is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. Davani will next appear in court on May 6.
