It was a somber day as a host of politicians, including Prime Minister Stephen Harper, gathered in downtown Toronto at funeral for a seven-year-old girl who died after being hit by a minivan in Leaside.
Georgia Walsh, the daughter of Conservative Party of Canada president John Walsh, struck by a vehicle at McRae Drive and Millwood Road, east of Bayview Avenue, just after 4 p.m. on July 16.
So far, no charges have been laid against the driver of the van.
The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday at St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Bloor Street East followed by a reception.
A visitation was held on Sunday at Humphrey Funeral Home on Bayview.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Walsh to the SickKids Foundation.
