Rob Ford’s former staffer pens tell-all book due out in fall

Rob Ford’s former chief of staff Mark Towhey has written a tell-all book about his time in the mayor’s office.

Towhey was fired a week after news broke in the spring of 2013 that the mayor had been caught on camera smoking crack cocaine.

According to the publisher’s website, the book is not an act of revenge, but rather “an up-close look at the mayor — and what goes on behind the scenes.”

The title and release date for the book are not yet clear. Skyhorse Publishing lists the publishing date as Oct. 21, days before the municipal election on Oct. 27. But booksellers, such as Chapters Indigo, are listing the release date as Nov. 11.

The publisher lists the book’s title as both Mayor Rob Ford: Behind the Scenes. My Attempt to Help the Belligerent Mayor, and as Uncontrollable: My Life with Mayor Rob Ford.

The book, co-written by freelance entertainment journalist Johanna Schneller, is described by the publishers as “an insider account of working with Ford, covering for him, managing a man who people see as a joke, who trips over himself in videos; who throws candy at children instead of handing it to them; who rants and raves, and gets belligerent in meetings and at private events.”
