Air Canada crash in Edmonton more serious than originally thought

The crash landing by an Air Canada Jazz flight last week was more serious than first thought, with a propeller even hitting a woman in the head.

A propeller broke off the plane during the emergency landing and slammed through the plane’s window when the plane landed, striking a woman in the head. She did not suffer serious injuries.

Four other people were hurt by shrapnel.

The Bombardier Q400 blew a tire as it was taking off on Thursday from Calgary Airport on its way to Grand Prairie.

The right landing gear collapsed and the plane tilted right causing the propeller to break off.

Due to high winds it was not able to return to the airport and had to do an emergency landing in Edmonton.

Seventy-one people were on board and four were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Some passengers said that they’re surprised Air Canada didn’t acknowledge the seriousness of the incident.
