Burst pipe causes flooding at MasterCard Centre entrance

The Toronto Maple Leafs practice facility is being cleaned up after a flood earlier on Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to the MasterCard Centre on Kipling Avenue, near Lake Shore Boulevard, around 4 a.m. on Monday, after a pipe burst near the main public entrance.

Water was dripping down from the ceiling in the main entranceway, and poured onto the sidewalk.

However, the flooding was limited to the entrance way.

The Leafs are scheduled to host their 37th annual skate for Easter Seals from noon to 2 p.m.

The event supports children with disabilities and involves current Leafs players and alumni.

There is no word yet whether the skate has been cancelled; however, reports from the scene indicate the rink will be operational.
