It was a cold, annoying start to the work week for tens of thousands who rely on the TTC for their morning commutes.
Subway service was suspended from Union to Bloor stations on Line 1 (Yonge-University Spadina) for about three hours between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
A substation was flooded on Richmond near Church, causing power to be cut off.
The TTC’s Brad Ross said the cause of the outage was “TTC equipment that failed as a result of water and salt getting into the vault where our equipment is stored.”
