This article is more than 5 years old.
It may be slim pickings when it comes to affordable housing in downtown Toronto, but this may be taking it to a new level.
Squished between two brownstone buildings at the south end of the Cabbagetown sits the city’s narrowest detached home.
And it can be yours for $750,000.
Touting a width of eight-feet, the three storey home situated on Shuter Street has two bedrooms, three bathrooms (including a sauna), and a finished basement.
According to the listing, the other attributes to this “spectacular architectural masterpiece” are a granite custom modern kitchen, a landscaped garden and the ample sunlight.
Here are the dimensions to the home:
- Second level Family room 3.33 m x 2.23 m
- Office 2.23 m x 1.58 m
- Master bedroom 3.33 m x 2.33 m
- Upper Level Dining room 4.88 m x 2.23 m
- Living room 4.88 m x 2.23 m
- Third level Bedroom 5.33 m x 2.23 m
- Basement Recreational, Games room 3.08 m x 1.88 m
- Main level Kitchen 4.03 m x 1.98 m
- Eating area 2.13 m x 1.98 m
But this isn’t the first time a smaller home has caught the eye of the media.
In 2011, Toronto’s ‘tiny home’, which was roughly the size of a shed, sold for over $100,000. The pint-size abode measured in at slightly over 300 square feet and even became a bit of a celebrity when the 2008 listing appeared on the Ellen Show.
In 2013, an adorable little 189-square-foot house on Hanson Street sold for over $200,000.
