Dancing Mountie dad tries to help his kids adjust to new school

Parents will do anything for their children, including showing off their funky dance moves to make them laugh.
An RCMP officer in Alberta is getting high praise for his after-school dance-party videos that show him groovin’ with his children, Kempton and Jessa, and the family dogs at their home.
Reports say RCMP Const. Robert Hynes works out of the Barrhead, Alta., detachment, which is located around 120 kilometres from Edmonton.
In the first video, posted to YouTube on Oct. 8 by Hynes’ wife, Lori, the Mountie busts a move to Watch Me (Whip Nae Nae) by rapper Silentó.
At first, their son is grooving solo on the backyard deck, but then Hynes struts onto the deck and both mimic the dance moves in the video.

Lori posted another video on Nov. 26, but this time, Hynes is breaking it down with his daughter and two dogs to the spirited Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson, featuring Bruno Mars.
“My husband danced his way into the house, out of his coat, and to the dance floor (which is just a subfloor as we are doing renovations),” Lori writes on YouTube.
At one point, the dogs get in on the action – dancing with their owners and with each other.

Lori says their children have been unhappy since Hynes was transferred to the Barrhead detachment, and the family moved to the new town.
“Our children are feeling like they don’t fit in at school, there has been lots of tears,” she said.
So, she decided to have some after-school dance parties to “give our children something to look forward to at the end of their school day.”
Now, it’s not everyday you get to see such wicked dance moves (let’s face it, most people can’t dance, even though they think they can). Hynes told the CBC he developed his dance moves in high school.
“I was blessed to go to a high school where we had a production every year and all the students got together and created our own choreography,” he said. So yeah, it’s kind of in me.”
