The Public Health Agency of Canada says it’s investigating a salmonella outbreak in eight provinces including Ontario.
The agency says 34 people have become sick, but hasn’t identified the source.
Sixteen those cases are in Ontario. The majority of those who have become sick are women, with the average age of 41.
In total, eight people have been hospitalized.
The agency reminds people to thoroughly wash with soap and water, to cook food to a safe internal temperature and to clean fruits and vegetables really well before eating them.
