So you got a sandwich maker for Christmas that you’ll never use.
Or you went overboard at this year’s ugly sweater contest.
What to do with these horrible rejects when the Christmas cheer settles down?
Well, you can truck them down to Queen Street and turn them into Skittles.
That’s right, it’s your chance to taste the rainbow!
For five days only, a pop-up pawn shop at 242 Queen Street West will trade your unwanted items for their estimated value in sweet, multi-coloured candy.
Slippers? Stuffed animals? Chachkies? Yep, they’ll take them all. According to the Skittles Pawn website, the only things they won’t accept are drugs, weapons, other illegal things or garbage.
That last one might be subjective.
The shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Dec. 26 to Dec. 30 only. But you can get an online appraisal of your stuff through the website before you go. Anyone over the age of 13 can participate.
And the best news of all is that everything the store receives that’s in good condition will be donated to the Goodwill ReUse Centre in Scarborough.
