A 21-year-old Brampton man has died after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 403 in Mississauga on Sunday night.
Six other people remain in hospital.
Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to the collision around 10:30 p.m.
An SUV was heading east when the driver rear-ended a sedan just past the Eastgate Parkway exit, police say.
A woman in the sedan was ejected and has been taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
“Of the eight occupants in both of the combined vehicles, seven of them were taken to hospital,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.
“There are reports that one of the vehicles may have driving erratically prior to the collision,” he added.
Police said they are still trying to “piece together” what happened and are asking witnesses to come forward.
The collision closed down the eastbound lanes on Highway 403 approaching Eglinton Avenue. The lanes reopened just after 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
