A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault near an Etobicoke school Tuesday morning.
A young woman was walking in the Eglinton Avenue West and Lloyd Manor Road area, just east of Martin Grove Road, around 9 a.m. when she was approached by an unknown person.
Police said the suspect continued to follow the 18-year-old and attempted to have a conversation with her. As they approached the Winsland and Winterton drives area, near Martingrove Collegiate Institute, he took the young woman to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted her.
The incident prompted schools in the area to send a letter to parents, warning them about the incident and providing a description of the suspect.
On Thursday, a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with forcible confinement, sexual assault and assault.
The boy cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
