Trending: Snow plow damaged after being pushed around by bully flatbed

After a long night of snow plowing and salting, Fernando Lemos headed back to his Thornhill home around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning for a few hours of rest before heading out again.

But when he looked out his window at around 9 a.m., he noticed his plow was not where he originally parked it in front of his home on Yellowood Circle near Dufferin Street and Highway 7.

Perturbed, he headed outside to check it out.

“I went to my truck and I see the (salt) spinner of my truck is smashed,” the owner of Green Forever Green maintenance said.

When Lemos checked his home security video, he realized it was a classic case of the little guy being pushed around by the big guy. And he was the little guy.

The video showed a flatbed truck pushing his plow several metres down the street, not once, but twice.

It was the second push that cemented Lemos’ belief that this was no accident.

“The guy was trying to back up,” he said. “If he hit me one time, maybe it was a mistake. But a second time? He made room…he knows he hit it. I was really upset.”

Lemos says the flatbed was there to pick up excavation equipment, and he’s currently trying to ascertain what company was ultimately responsible.

Police offered little assistance, he said.

“They took a report and said it’s going to be hard to find (the person responsible.)”

Lemos had to scramble to get his spinner fixed, a process that cost him several hours of work. “I need the spinner to work,” he stressed. “It’s what I do for a living. It’s not even the money. I went to fix it right away. But I had to pay almost $300.”

“Sometimes we have accidents and these things happen,” he added. “But he knew what he was doing. It was deliberate, to move it out of the way.”

He points out that no one knocked on his door to ask him to move the plow.

“It’s just disrespectful. It’s not even about the money. I’m glad I have cameras.”
