Teen dead after targeted stabbing in Etobicoke

By News Staff

A 17-year-old boy is dead after a stabbing in Etobicoke on Wednesday.

Officers said the teen was found with stab wounds and without vital signs at a high-rise apartment building on The West Mall, near Rathburn Road, around 7 p.m.

Police believe that this was a targeted attack.

“Video surveillance from the building shows four males climbing a fence just west of here,” Det. Sgt. Steve Ryan said at the scene.

“It appears on the video that two males were in pursuit of the other two other males … They caught up to the one guy and he was stabbed. The second guy that was running away, we don’t know who he is at this point, ran around the building.”

Ryan said police are looking for the two suspects. He added that person who did not commit the stabbing should contact a lawyer and surrender.

“When you have a second suspect, there’s never a secret,” he said.

Police have surveillance video but no descriptions of the suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
