A 30-year-old woman was struck and killed while crossing a downtown intersection last week.

Police say the unidentified victim was crossing against the light when she was struck by a dump truck.

The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old man, was heading south on Jarvis Street near Queen Street around 2 p.m. on Friday.

Witnesses say the woman, who is believed to be homeless, simply walked into oncoming traffic.

The woman’s death marks the 14th traffic fatality of 2016.
