By News Staff

Ontario Provincial Police charged nine people with impaired driving over the Easter long weekend.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt initially tweeted that eight people had been charged. He later added there was one more.

Schmidt told the Toronto Sun that most of the arrests were in the GTA and many of the drivers were involved in collisions.

Ontario provincial police were also out over the long weekend as part of their seatbelt campaign. They’re encouraging everyone to buckle up. It’s not yet known if they made any arrests or laid any fines for seatbelt infractions.
