Two men die in canoeing mishap in central Ontario

By The Canadian Press

Two Toronto men are dead after the canoes they were travelling in capsized on a central Ontario lake.

Provincial Police say their emergency response team was called to Eagle Lake on Monday after two boats tipped over.

Police say some of the passengers made it safely to shore, but two men did not return.

Police say they were not wearing flotation devices at the time the canoes capsized.

Their bodies were recovered from the lake a day later.

Police have identified the victims as 24 year-old Kajan Kalapahan and 21 year-old Lingavijithan Kirupanayagam.
