Trending: Caplansky parks food truck in front of shuttered deli

By News Staff

When the world gives you lemons … grab your food truck.

Late Monday night, the landlord of the building housing Caplansky’s Deli on College Street changed the locks and posted a notice that he was terminating the restaurant’s lease.

This came as a surprise to Caplansky’s owner, Zane Caplansky, who admitted to a long-standing dispute with the landlord.

“He terminated the lease,” Caplansky said. “No notice, no offer to rectify … which in the lease it says you have to do this.”

While he mulls filing an injunction to get back into his restaurant, Caplansky has parked his food truck in front of the empty restaurant to keep serving sandwiches to his loyal customers.

“The truck will be open for business today,” Caplansky wrote on Facebook. “I’m overwhelmed by the support from my team and this city. Can’t stop. Won’t stop. This is my life.”

It’s true what they say: You can’t keep a good deli down.
