“This quick arrest demonstrates how well our frontline officers work together with officers in our specialty units as a highly-trained and highly-effective team,” Chief Eric Jolliffe said in a release.
“I am proud of the work our dedicated officers do each and every day.”
Police are asking any witnesses or anyone who may have captured the incident on a dashcam or surveillance camera to call them.
Police said King Road would be closed from Highway 27 to 7th Concession Road for several hours for the investigation.
