4 people sprayed with noxious substance at Yonge and Dundas

By News Staff

Paramedics treated four people who were apparently pepper-sprayed at Yonge and Dundas streets on Friday night.

It happened before 10 p.m. outside 10 Dundas St. E., which houses movie theatres, restaurants and shops.

Police say the incident was an attempted robbery and the victim was sprayed with an unknown substance, believed to be pepper spray.

Toronto Paramedic Services were stationed in the building’s washroom to help those affected.

“I was just standing there and got a little bit in my face,” said Norman Miller.

“I was there with my friend and it just started to burn me … and then somebody said it’s pepper spray. So I went to the washroom to wash my face.”

Police are searching for two male suspects seen running north on Yonge, however, they did not have any further descriptions.

Earlier on Friday, around 2:20 a.m., two men were pepper-sprayed during a fight at King and Brant streets, west of Spadina.
