Two suspects wanted in pepper spray robbery attempt last month

Police are searching for two suspects wanted in a pepper spray attack last month in the downtown core.

On March 23, two men approached another man in the Yonge Street and Dundas Square area around 9:40 p.m. One of the suspects attempted to rip a gold chain off the man’s neck. When the victim fought back, the second suspect deployed a large canister of pepper spray.

Several bystanders in the area suffered from the effects of the noxious substance as the suspects fled north up Yonge Street.

The first suspect is described as having a slim build wearing a grey ball cap, dark windbreaker-style jacket with a Maple Leaf logo, grey track pants and a black backpack.

The second suspect is described as having a slim build wearing a black North Face jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes with a red heel.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
